Update from the flip side, Good bye to 2013

I hate lists. Okay, maybe hate is a strong word, but honestly I really dislike lists. A list usually means I have to do something, remember something, or buy something, when really I'd much rather be lounging around. I sometimes even get resentful at gratuity lists, as people seem to suggest them only when I'm feeling my most bratty and utterly ungrateful…hmm. That being said, I decided to make a list of sorts of my favorite photos from 2013, as a way to say good-bye and remember some of the best times from this past year. It really wasn't intended to be a gratuity list, but funny how things happen, it has turned out that way. So, with no further ado, here is my 2013 in photos:

Favorite pic taken from Atlanta belt line trail starting at 10th street-Rainbow Meteor. I was on the beltline solo this day and it was windy and beautiful. It's one of my magical serenity spots in town. If you haven't checked it out yet, make that a 2014 resolution. You're welcome.

Favorite pic of completed eye make up ever. I am so so bad at taking eye make up selfies, and would never be able to post a tutorial, make a portfolio of looks I've created, etc. for this reason. Not my thing. This one, however, turned out well and green was kind of my go-to for fun make up during my time at Sephora so here ya go.

Favorite pic of me and the bestie taken during co-workers 21st birthday extravaganza. We took her to Johhny's Hideaway, and I'm amazed she still speaks to us. Now the bestie is madly in love and shining her light in Charlotte, NC. This means 2014 has road trips in it for me and Alice (my sweet new Altima).

Favorite pic of the room mates dog, Chance, taken shortly after I moved in. I think he is dreaming about happy things here, like finally catching that squirrel, or perhaps us finally giving him that sandwich we keep making in front of him in the kitchen. Not really sure, but I love his sweet face.

Favorite baby of the New Year-this was a landslide victory to Charles "Charlie" McElroy May, brought to you by my rad friends Courtney and Patrick. They do good work making tiny, adorable humans.  Also my friend Matty wins for most adoring gaze while holding a baby. (Sorry ladies, he's taken.)

Favorite trip of the year: I flew to sunny California to see my cousins. It was as beautiful as I'd imagined, and I'm so happy I got the chance to go. More travel for next year, please!

The reasons one, two, and three that the CA trip was my fave. I think this is pretty self-explanatory, but in case you were wondering, these are my little cousins Isabella, Lachlan, and Samuel. They are so stellar and don't even know it yet.

Favorite pic of the kiddos I nanny for-before the back seat violence broke out. ;)

Favorite pic of room mate #1 taken at Six Feet Under, looking over Oakland Cemetery.

Favorite pic of room mate #2 taken at bar I can't remember the name of, in Marietta. It was a great night though. :)

Favorite pic of me finishing the Peachtree Road Race for the first time, ever. (It was the first time running it too!)

Favorite pic of me and college room mate in matching hoodies before she moved to Alaska. Seriously, with the travel plans in 2014!

Favorite pic with my favorite Virgo on her birthday dinner. And my soon to be boss!

Favorite pic of rain in Atlanta. You guys, I want you to know that mother nature provided me with so, SO MANY oppurtunities to take rain photos this year, and this one won out. It was a tough decision, just so you know.

Favorite pic from second best trip to see my other baby coz Bridger. He is the most adorable shark I know, not to mention the sweetest. :)

Favorite (and only) Throwback Thursday picture of my parents leaving their wedding 43 years ago. It's a great shot of them, and also kinda nice to know your folks were hot stuff. :)

So there you have it, my 2013 in photos. I would be in extreme error to say it was not a wonderful year, as the proof is in the photographic evidence above, and really, who can argue with that? Going into the last day of the year full of gratitude, and happy that I made this list. (There, I said it!)
